Loved As You Are - 5 Benefits of Giving Up the Past Because You Are Loved

By Dr. Robert Henry Schwenk

Article selected by Mark Schlarbaum

The Ultimate Source loves you just as you are. (Some will name this Ultimate Source as God.) You see, nothing you have done or not done, said or not said, thought or not thought, keeps The Ultimate Source from loving you just as you are. That means, simply, that you are accepted just as you are in this moment. Nothing from the past needs to haunt you. The past has no grip on you. The past has no power to poison the present moment. The only power the past has over you is the amends you may need to make for that which you did in the past. But this is normal. The Universe runs on the idea of karma. Which means that which you sow, that shall you reap. But making amends is not the same as being controlled by your past. The past only has the meaning you give. And if you give it only the meaning of making amends where amends need to be made, then the past has no power over you.

So, what are the five benefits of giving up the past?

1. You are free to make decisions based on this moment alone. If the past does not control you, which it does not, then you are free in this moment to decide.

2. You are free to reinvent yourself in this moment. The past need not define who you are in this moment. So, if you need to be a new you right now, be so.

3. Because you are free to make decisions or to reinvent yourself in this moment, you can dream as big as you wish. Nothing from the past is holding back your dreams.

4. Because you are liberated from the past and because you are free to reformulate yourself in this moment, there is nothing you cannot plan for. When you can conceive it and believe it, you can achieve. (W. Clement Stone) Your past does not hold you back.

5. Because you carry no prejudicial love or hate from the past, you are free, in this moment, to be a true human being to another human being. You can meet whomever you please with no pre-conceived ideas of how they or you “should be.”

Just think of the release from tension and anxiety you can find within yourself when realize you are loved just as you are. Because you are loved just as you are, The Ultimate Source has no preconceived ideas of how you should be either. You are free to be.

5 Great Ideas For a Family Activity Holiday

By Kieron Sellens

If you’re looking to do something different with the kids when you next go on holiday, have you thought about horse riding in America? How about cycling beside the Danube? Or dog sledding in Lapland? If you want an experience that your children will really remember on holiday, then a family activity holiday may be just the thing for you.

Many parents may be put off by health and safety concerns for these kinds of adventure holiday, but they shouldn’t be. Almost all standard activity holidays will have some kind of child friendly option, and there are plenty of niche operators that specifically offer family activity holidays. If you are worried about safety, it is always a good idea to check out any adventure holiday company that you decide to go with, to make sure it is reputable and provides a good service. Read any online reviews that you can find, and call them up and see how they respond to your concerns.

If you start to look around for a family activity holiday, you’ll be spoilt for choice: here are five ideas to get you started.

Cycling in Europe

Cycling abroad can be a safe and fun family activity holiday, and it is very easy to organise. Make sure you check the difficulty level of any cycling trip before you go, and be sure to let your travel operator know that you’ll be bringing children with you. Sweating your way up a steep mountain pass with an exhausted child in tow is no one’s idea of a fun holiday!

But as long as you pick a route that all the family will be comfortable with, you can have a brilliant time. The Loire Valley and the route along the Danube are two of Europe’s most established cycling routes, and they are also suitable for children on a family activity holiday, being on flat and gently hilly terrain and taking in astonishing views along the way.

Safari in Africa

There’s little that gets kids more excited than wild animals, and an African safari makes for a great family activity holiday. Safaris can include hippo spotting on boat trips, 4×4 drives through nature reserves, visits to farms, animal sanctuaries and orphanages, and many other activities.

The safari business is very well established, and you’ll find plenty of companies that can provide packages specifically for family activity holidays. Kenya is the most common destination, though safari holidays are run in many other African countries as well, such as South Africa and Tanzania.

Riding & Ranch Stay in America

For a real cowboy experience, there’s nothing like a ride and ranch holiday - learning to ride, spending time with the animals and learning some basic cowboy skills are all things that appeal to kids and their parents! Many tour operators accept absolute beginners, though it may be worth getting your children (and yourself!) a little experience in the saddle before you travel abroad.

Make sure you choose the right kind of ranch experience for your family activity holiday. Working ranch holidays (including cattle drives) aren’t suitable for young children, as they require long hours in the saddle and a fair amount of riding experience. Centre based riding holidays, where you stay in a single location with daily riding activities, can accommodate all ages, and some progressive riding holidays (where you move from ranch to ranch over a number of days) are suitable for slightly older children.

Dog Sledding in Lapland

If cutting through the snow with your kids on a husky driven sledge sounds like your idea of heaven, this might be the activity holiday for you! For children, the combination of snow, animals and adventure can be irresistible. The scenery in Lapland is remarkable, and there’s even a chance that you’ll catch a glimpse of the famous Northern Lights when you visit.

Dog sledding can be done as a one day excursion or, if you and your children are feeling adventurous, can be part of a multi-day expedition, stopping off at various lodges and cabins along the way. This is a family activity holiday for slightly older children - check with travel companies to find out the exact minimum age for their trips.

Sailing through the Greek Islands

Sailing can make for a superb family activity holiday, and the Greek Islands are an ideal destination - not only is the scenery beautiful, the steady waters make it a very safe place to sail and swim. Children and adults can learn the basics of sailing, swim in the Mediterranean, visit harbour towns and bask in the sun. No previous knowledge of sailing or yachting is necessary in most cases, with full tuition and assistance available.

Most family sailing holidays will be based on a flotilla, which are medium sized yachts with sails and engines. Flotillas are a very family friendly way to sail, and have become hugely popular in recent years. There are plenty of tour operators that offer flotilla holidays in Greece, and if you have very young children they can provide extra safety precautions, such as safety netting along the guardrails, to help keep your kids safe.

Cheap Sun Holidays

By Mandy Chagger

There are many times that you would just like to get away. Going on holiday is something that nearly everyone wants to do at one time or another. However, getting there without spending all the money you have available is often a little bit more difficult. You want to be sure that you can find cheap holidays, so you can spend time enjoying them, without having to worry about how you are going to pay for them.

Finding cheap holidays is often easier than you think if you know where to look. Most of the time, cheap holidays are best found with group deals or packages. This means that the best way for you to find cheap holidays is to request information from various agencies that deal with holidays, and with the agents that can book them. You will be able to find package deals on cheap holidays to destinations that you have always wanted to visit such as Turkey, the USA, and Canary Island. These are three of the most popular holiday destinations, but they are also the three most popular destinations that aren’t cheap - so how can you make sure you are finding cheap holidays?

First of all, when you are looking for cheap holidays, you are most often looking for a package deal. This will include flights, accommodations, and also other perks that might be included. Therefore, you need to find deals that include all these things.

One of the most important things that you do when you are searching for cheap holidays is to talk to a online travel agent. They have the contacts needed for arranging the types of packages or deals that you are looking for. Many times, travel agents can get special deals on flights that you as a traveller would not be able to get otherwise. Flights are part of what makes your holidays so expensive - especially if you take your holidays with more than one family member. However, travel agents can often get cheaper tickets for you, your spouse, and your children. Therefore, it is important to find a reliable travel agent when you are on the hunt for cheap holidays.

Accommodations are another part of the package that you will be looking for with cheap holidays. Often, staying in a prime establishment is one of the most expensive parts of your holiday. Many times, people limit their holidays simply because accommodations can be so expensive. However, if you can arrange an all-inclusive package through the travel agent, you can find cheap or alternative accommodations that will make your holiday even better.

When you are on the lookout for cheap holidays in Turkey, the USA, or Canary Island, buying your flights and accommodations together is often the best way to spend the least amount of money. However, there are also other things to think about in order to get the cheapest holiday possible. These are things that you might not even think about while you are planning your holiday, but will end up being the ones that are very expensive.

The things that you need to consider include the food that you are eating on your holiday, as well as other things that you are buying. Many people attempt to take cheap holidays, using packages that they buy from a travel agent, but end up spending too much money otherwise. There are some hints that you can follow in order to maintain your cheap holiday.

First of all, you need to keep track of the money you’re spending on food while you are on your cheap holiday. You want to be sure that you are not choosing expensive restaurants to dine at that are exhausting your holiday spending money. Many times, if you can eat at fast food establishments, or find food to buy in a grocery store, you will find that this will be a much cheaper way to eat. Many people choose to buy food in a grocery store on their cheap holiday because this way they can prepare their own food and save on eating out. Often, the best way to save money on a cheap holiday is to choose one or two nights to eat in a fancy restaurant, and settle for the less expensive dining choices on the other occasions.

Souvenirs are another item that can make cheap holidays much more expensive. When you are on a cheap holiday, you want to choose carefully what you buy, rather than just buy anything you see in the shops. While it might be tempting to purchase lots of different souvenirs, you might want to take your time and choose carefully, because this will mean you spend your money on things that matter instead of cheap stuff you will not keep.

Remember that cheap holidays are always possible, as long as you do some research and plan ahead.
