I never did like maps, never could figure them out. For a person with no sense of direction, that’s not at all unusual.
Maps always seemed confusing to me, all those tiny red and blue lines, showing me where to go, and how to get there. I don’t want to follow those lines. Never did. I want to go in-between, outside, over and around those lines.
How will I find my way? I don’t know. I’m not quite sure. I’ll start off here, and well, I won’t know where I’m going or where I’ll end up, until I get there.
Sound crazy to you? Maybe! Oh, I’ve been taught, lectured, and warned about direction, mapping and planning. Yes, Planning! 5 year plans, 10 year plans, life plans, retirement plans. I never did like any of those either. Life never seemed all that cut and dry to me.
Some days, I ‘m not even sure if I’ll make it through the night, let alone the decade. Besides, life has a funny way of throwing off even the best laid plans. The most treasured moments I have had in this lifetime, were the times I did things spontaneously. Like jumping in the car and going to the mountains. Taking off to the seaside without thinking. Going home for the weekend unannounced. Making up a crazy but wonderful adventure day with my friends. Running away for the night. Walking barefoot in the park, when the spirit moved me.

Some People Make You Crazy and You Need to Thank Them
By Veronica Hay
The people who make you the craziest perhaps bring you the greatest gifts.
I had a difficult conversation with someone this weekend which left me shaken for several hours after. I felt that even though I had not been physically abused, I nevertheless felt emotionally scarred and my body hurt all over.
At one point in the conversation, I knew that one of us had to let go of our ego and it wasn’t going to be them. And so I just let go of mine. It was no longer important who was right (and by the way I was). It was only important that I find some peace here and look deeper to find out what was really going on. Once I did that, I felt compassion for this person, who’s anger was really only a call for help, a longing for love, coming from a desperate and frustrated place. Once my ego was out of the way, I could see that and respond in kind.
When the conversation had ended, I took some time to process it and write about it to get clear as to why I had attracted this to me. I have come to believe that the world is indeed a safe place and people are inherently good. This is reflected back to me in my life almost all of the time.
Writing about it helped me to first release the anger. No, make that rage! And writing some more about it, uncovered the insights and helped me to see, where I was asking but not paying attention as to what was showing up, where I was wanting but not hearing or seeing, where I was demanding but not allowing, where I was getting in my own way and stopping my good for coming to me.
It is so much easier to see this in others rather than in ourselves.
After all the reflection and writing and processing, I let it go and went to bed. In the morning as I lay there, I was able to see this person, as an Angel in disguise. I was able to have compassion and yes, even love for them. They helped me to heal another part of myself that had been crying out for help, another part of me that I needed to acknowledge and finally let go of.

Health Springs From Within
By Dorothy M. Neddermeyer, PhD
Your health depends on your willingness and quality of care you give your mind, body and spirit. It is no more complicated or simple than that. Wow! It doesn’t get any better than that. Or does it? Yes, it can be better than that. Think about it. If your health is no more complicated or simple than your willingness and level of care you give your mind, body and spirit, you have affirmed and acknowledged your power. You have the power to take care of your mind, body and spirit, albeit you did not know, until now.
You need to give thought to your eating and fitness habits and assess how these habits and practices are affecting your physical well-being. Feeling good about yourself is the result of taking care of your emotions and spirit as well as your body.
Your feelings are created by your thoughts. You do not have a feeling without having a thought first. You have heard the cliche, ‘What were you thinking?” Indeed, what were you thinking. When you know what you were thinking you can stop the drama, the worry, etc. and think positive, self-affirming thoughts. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to your thoughts, as your thoughts affect every area of your life. Remember to think positive thoughts that affirm your health and well-being.
Of course, you know exercise is important. If you need to begin a fitness program, today is the best day to start. Procrastinating is your biggest negative thought. Also, consider yoga to focus on nurturing all aspects of your being.
When you spend time strengthening the connection between your mind, body and spirit you create a harmonious balance that carries into all aspects of your life. Feeling good about yourself makes a huge difference in the way you interact with every facet of your life. If you take time to take good care of your mind, body and spirit you have the resilience to handle what you encounter at home or work.
When you take proper care of your body, stay positive and make time to connect to your inner guidance, you will feel stronger and more empowered. Your empowered attitude will permeate all areas of your life and you will be motivated to continue this cycle of self-improvement as the life-long process that it is. By taking steps to take care of your health and well-being now, you will not only feel better you will live a healthy life without all the preconceived maladies of old age.
